Special Education Needs and Disability

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities at Cedarwood

Cedarwood Primary School values the achievements of all pupils no matter how big or small. We are committed to providing the best opportunities in a rich environment adapted to meet the needs of all pupils during their time at school.

All pupils are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum and our policy acknowledges the need for high quality teaching that is inclusive for all pupils. We ensure that appropriate provision is made for all pupils with SEND.

We aim to:

  • To raise the aspirations and expectations for all our pupils with SEND within our school.
  • To ensure that all pupils with SEND are fully integrated in to the life of the school, take a full part in all activities and represent the school in positions of responsibility within school and the wider community.
  • The views, thoughts and wishes of children and families will be actively sought and the planning and implementation of their support plan will be achieved collaboratively.
  • Our provision will be underpinned by quality first teaching, planned and delivered by the class teacher, supported by teaching assistants in or out of class and targeted intervention support when required.

We believe that partnership with parents is the key to success for all pupils including those with SEND and work hard to develop relationships to maximise outcomes for our children. Mrs Youngs is always happy to discuss support for pupils. Please pop into the office if you wish to make an appointment.
