We've been awarded GOLD........

We are delighted to announce that Cedarwood Primary School has achieved the Gold School Games Mark award for our commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport in 2017/18.

Congratulations to all our children who have participated in the numerous sporting events throughout the year in and out of School.

Cedarwood performed superbly, showing great talent, teamwork, respect for others and enjoyment during the events.

We are extremely proud of all the children who have represented our school and even more so achieving the Gold School Games Award.

The provision of 2 hours of PE in KS2 has had a huge impact on our school successes in competitions.

Our Achievements 2017/2018

This year we had success in the cross country event at The Royal Hospital School with 4 top 5 medalists and 6 children in the top 20. Our Year 4 boys were the champions of their event.

The netball squad won the Kesgrave High School Pyramid event. The netball squad also were crowned champions of their league being unbeaten and made it to the quarter finals in the knockout cup.

The football squad won the Kesgrave High School cup in the pyramid tournament.

The year 6 girls played some fantastic matches and were runners up in their league.

The U11 Sportshall athletics team achieved the Silver award.

Quad kids were represented by Year 4 children who performed superbly and achieved the bronze award.

Quad Kids U11’s  consisted of 7 year 6 children and 3 year 5 children, we achieved our best ever finish of 7th place out of 64 teams. The County Finals we had a sprinter finish 5th fastest in the county and overall we finished 11th out of 20 schools which was a fantastic result. We have taken part in lots of festivals including dodgeball (U9 & U11’s), basketball (U9 & U11’s), hockey, futsal (U9 & U11’s), rounder’s, cricket and U9 cricket festival and tennis.

A huge thank you to all our lovely parents and grandparents who have taken the children to the sporting events, without your continued support we would not be able to take part in the festivals and competitions. We really appreciate your time and effort.
